Joy in the Lord

Today I read ten Psalms and part of 1 Corinthians 15. Here are some of my favorite verses from those passages:

Psalm 126:5-6 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. 6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

1 Corinthians 15:3-4 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.

Yesterday when I gave blood, I had to be stuck twice. The needle didn’t go in quite right in my left arm, and the blood wouldn’t flow freely; so they changed it to the right arm which worked fine. I told Judy that I would Blog that it was all her fault—she was the vampire who inserted the first needle. She normally does an excellent job; all the workers at CBCO are outstanding and I appreciate the work they do!

Today I went to the Ozark Electric Cooperative annual membership meeting; it was interesting and informative, and I won a toy truck in the door prize giveaway! Besides that, I will get $10 off on my electric bill, and I only burned about $7 worth of gas getting there and back. I also got a free lunch, a pencil, a small clock with an indoor/outdoor thermometer feature, and a spiral fluorescent light bulb—well worth my time.

On a sad note, I will be going to the family visitation tonight of a friend who succumbed to cancer this week. He was a deacon at Riverdale Baptist Church, and we know that he is home now with the Good Shepherd. Join me in saying a prayer for his family to have peace and comfort.
